ILO news (Akwa-Ibom, Nigeria): The 2013 Rain School, organized courses on leadership, organizational skills and Gender issues for Trade Unions from July 22 – 26, 2013 at the Workers Solidarity Centre, Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria.

The broad objective of the training was to equip Trade Unions with skills needed to strengthen their structure by:
  • bringing Trade Unionists together to share ideas and experiences.
  • providing a platform for workers to examine the current state of the Trade Unions in Nigeria.
  • raising workers consciousness toward building popular power in the defense of workers' rights.
  • identifying opportunities, challenges and develop strategies for strengthening Trade Unions in Nigeria.
The NLC (Northern Light College) Education and Training Department develop programmes and activities that serve as catalysts and stimulants for the intellectual development of the members of the affiliates of Congress.
