Marking a decade of the National Wage Council, ILO commits to working together with social partners to advance social justice and promote decent work through setting adequate wages.
QUANG NINH, Viet Nam (ILO News) - ILO Country Office for Viet Nam is pleased to join our partners representing the Government, employers and workers of Viet Nam in celebrating a decade since the establishment of the National Wage Council.
The Council plays an important role and responsibility in advising the Government on setting the minimum wage and wage policies for workers. With the tireless efforts of the Council in the past 10 years, in 2022, for the first time, Viet Nam adopted regulations on a per-hour minimum wage in order to expand the coverage of the minimum wage.
The ILO commits to continuing to cooperate and provide technical assistance to the National Wage Council and domestic partners to promote social justice and decent work through the establishment of a fair wage based on the needs of workers and their families while taking into account factors and economic capabilities.
