“Start and Improve Your Business” Training of Trainers Held in Nalchik
A training of trainers under the International Labour Organization (ILO) programme “Start and Improve Your Business” was held on 4-9 December 2017 in Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, Russian Federation. Experts from the state institutions and non-government organizations of Kabardino-Balkaria and North Ossetia dealing with vocational education and entrepreneurship and employment support took part in the training. It was sponsored by the ILO project “Youth Employment Partnerships in the Commonwealth of Independent States”.

“Start and Improve Your Business” (SIYB) is an educational programme for entrepreneurs willing to start and develop their own business. Basic principles of doing business - from business idea formulation to developing and implementing a business plan - are presented in a friendly and simple way.
Thanks to the training, each participating organization received skilled trainers ready to teach future and existing entrepreneurs. The participants learned the specifics of trainers’ work and obtained skills required in teaching adult students. Moreover, every trainer received an international certificate and a set of ten different SIYB manuals.
Newly certified trainers will now be able to help unemployed citizens to start their own business as part of the self-employment programmes, thus contributing to the small and medium-size enterprise development in the North Caucasus.
Before starting unassisted work with potential entrepreneurs, the new trainers will have to pass a sort of a qualifying exam: for several days, they will conduct trainings under the supervision of master-trainers.
