Mother and Early Childhood Grant (MECG) in Lao People's Democratic Republic

The UN Joint Programme in Lao People's Democratic Republic supported a social assistance pilot for pregnant women and newborn children, by providing a cash benefit of 150,000 kip per month, for better healthcare and nutrition. The lessons from the pilot are expected to contribute to the future expansion of social protection in the country.
