Is this different from the plots the stories the ILO usually follow?

As the storyteller, you have control over the perspective from which you share a story, and the moments in time when the story begins and ends. By shifting the focus of your story to a different central character, or making deliberate choices about when the story begins and ends, you may be able to shift a rags-to-riches story to an overcoming the monster story.
By using the same plots and types of stories over and over, stories become familiar to those that hear them. Too much familiarity breeds an implicit permission to disengage, or if I hear the same stories over and over it may trigger a sense of pseudoinefficacy — the problem is so large or so intractable that my action won’t help and therefore I disengage.
