Celebrating International Women’s Day 2024 in Basra, Iraq

On this special day, witness the incredible strides taken by young women in Basra, Iraq, as they embark on a journey of skills development in various sectors, including green skills to pave the way towards accessing decent job opportunities and to enhance their positive role in their communities. The ILO, in collaboration with UN-Habitat Iraq, is implementing training programmes under the EU-funded project "Increasing Access to Employment Opportunities for Vulnerable Urban Population in Basra City in Response to the COVID-19 Crisis,” to support young women in Basra in their journey to better employment opportunities, including self-employment.
