Applying the G20 Training Strategy in Kyrgyzstan (Phase 2)
Sub-regional workshop on the results of the pilot “Alignment of TVET strategic objectives and performance indicators with the International Human Resource Development (HRD) Policy Instruments”
Representatives from the respective countries learnt from the completed TVET strategic development plan of Kyrgyzstan and shared their approaches and results of TVET strategic planning.

Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, 15-16 November 2018, the Kyrgyz Republic hosted the Sub-regional pilot completion workshop: “Alignment of TVET strategic objectives and performance indicators in line with international HRD policy instruments”. The workshop aimed to complete the first Project’s output on ‘National Skills Development policies and strategies and related performance indicators in countries-beneficiaries reviewed by related governments and stakeholders and aligned with requirements of G20 Training Strategy, international HRD policy instruments, and the UN 2030 SDGs”. The pilot under this Output was launched in the Kyrgyz Republic in April 2018, following the request from the Project Steering Committee furnished immediately after the Sub-regional workshop in March 2018.
The workshop involved participation of tripartite delegations as well as experts from the Project countries-beneficiaries: Armenia, Tajikistan, Russian Federation, who contributed to the discussion and lessons learning in line with the Project’s activity. Representatives from the respective countries learnt from the completed TVET strategic development plan of Kyrgyzstan and shared their approaches and results of TVET strategic planning.
As a result of the workshop, participants updated their knowledge on modern approaches to TVET strategic planning, became familiar with the TVET strategic planning objectives and indicators, which were developed by the Kyrgyz Republic and aligned with international HRD policy instruments (ILO, UNESCO and the Agenda 2030), the calculation of NEET rates, and on how to establish gender sensitive planning tools, among others.
The project countries-beneficiaries shared their national experience of TVET Strategic planning; learnt on the findings of the tracer study carried out for lyceum and college graduates (2017) in Kyrgyzstan, as well as other baseline data accumulated for the strategic planning. Furthermore, experience regarding the role and importance of the involved Ministries and Social Partners in undertaking TVET strategic planning was discussed.
