SPARKing change, making India disability-inclusive

The International Labour Organization's SPARK project has trained 11 Disability Inclusion Facilitators (DIFs) like Lata, to help persons with disabilities become fully engaged in economic activities and increase their incomes, thus tackling poverty and furthering social justice. In India, ILO's Disability Inclusive Rural Transformation – SPARK project is being implemented in collaboration with Mahila Arthik Vaikas Mahamandal (MAVIM), Government of Maharashtra for inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) supported Nav Tejaswini project in Maharashtra. The Nav Tejaswini project aims to enable one million poor rural households overcome poverty sustainably while improving rural women’s capacity to develop sustainable enterprises, engage in remunerative employment, and access markets.
