Nourishing a Ukrainian community in times of war

Tetyana Kovalenko, 42, from the village of Novi Petrivtsi in Kyiv Oblast was inspired by health, nutrition, and providing a sense of unity through homegrown bread during times of war. With experience in procurement and merchandising but questions about how to develop a business, she attended a Start your Business (SYB) training. In the training, she learned how to design a business plan among other new insights she gained.
The bakery will employ a team of five people — those will be new jobs. So far, we have been working in our community, but our plans for the future are ambitious — we want to expand the geography of our customers and open new points of sale. Now I deliver my products to a local coffee shop twice a week and have a number of personal orders.
