Fundamental principles and rights at work are a key factor in ensuring respect, equity, equality, and human rights in the workplace. In Africa, these principles offer a unique opportunity to strengthen worker protection frameworks and promote a fairer and more inclusive professional environment.
One of the key drivers for the effective implementation of these principles is the development of strategic partnerships. In Côte d’Ivoire, civil society plays a leading role in uniting efforts through innovative initiatives that can be adopted by various sectors. This dynamic is further reinforced by the establishment of a structured social dialogue, supported by a national action plan involving civil society, trade unions, employers, the government, and international organizations.
This coalition with civil society not only amplifies the impact of innovative projects but also ensures the concrete implementation of fundamental principles and rights at work. By integrating these approaches, Africa can build work environments that are more respectful of human rights and foster sustainable and inclusive economic development.
