Hundreds of people signed-up for the ILO’s Red Card to Child Labour campaign during this year’s Yo!Fest, a European Youth Event (EYE 2014) held in May. The ILO participated in the festival to promote the campaign, which is set to launch on 12 June, on World Day Against Child Labour.

The youth-led political festival was organised by the European Parliament in Strasbourg, which included high-level debates, activities and workshops on key issues concerning youth today such as human rights, education and youth employment, and the future of the EU.

“The promotion of the campaign was a great success at the festival and I was equally impressed to see so many young people, teachers, professors, and colleagues from EU institutions excited to join it,” said Marta Makhoul, Senior Policy Officer, ILO-Brussels.
