The launch of the E-Waste for Youth Employment Project in Limpopo marked the official start of the initiative and served as a platform to raise public awareness, build partnerships, and strengthen policy commitments for sustainable e-waste management.
The event brought together government, private sector, development partners, and communities, and highlighted e-waste recycling as both an environmental necessity and an economic opportunity, especially for youth, women, and persons with disabilities.
Its key objectives were to formalize partnerships between the ILO, LEDET, and DFFE, engage stakeholders in support of green and decent work opportunities, and raise awareness on the role of e-waste recycling in promoting environmental sustainability and economic resilience.
