Against social dumping at sea

On 21 February 2013, the Employment Committee of the European parliament adopted a decision on the enforcement of a Council Directive on the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC, 2006). With this decision, MEPs aim to bring the MLC closer to EU law. The EP’s support to the MLC will further speed up the ratification process by EU countries, said ILO-Brussels Director Rudi Delarue in an interview.
