Where are employers’ organizations on their journey toward digitalization? A look at Chile

This technical note is part of the collection of notable experiences in the digitalization of employers’ and business membership organizations in Latin America, identified during the research process carried out by the ILO’s Bureau for Employers’ Activities (ACT/EMP) for the preparation of the 2022 Regional Report “Where are employers’ organizations on their journey toward digitalization? A look at Latin America.” The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Tourism of Osorno in Chile is a regional employers’ organization serving companies in the city of Osorno. The Chamber affiliates nearly 100 businesses and has been operating for more than 75 years. In response to the difficult situation faced by merchants during the COVID‑19 lockdowns, the Chamber made available to its members—and to non-member companies—a digital commerce solution (Marketplace), with the support of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Chile (CNC).
