Viet Nam in transformation: How technology is changing jobs and enterprises (country brief)
The Viet Nam’s country brief is based on ILO report series “ASEAN in transformation: How technology is changing jobs and enterprises”. It examines the impact of technology and related implications for enterprises and their employment needs with a focus on the textile, clothing and footwear and electrical and electronics sectors in Viet Nam.
Viet Nam has not yet witnessed the impact of technology in the workplace to the same degree as some of its more advanced ASEAN neighbours. This is primarily due to its competitive labour costs coupled with relatively high technology investment costs. However, the question is not if, but when, the advances will affect Viet Nam.
