Unlocking markets for climate resilience – Mapping private sector delivery of climate-smart solutions
This report maps private sector climate-smart solutions in Uganda to identify scalable, market-based approaches that strengthen resilience and livelihoods in refugee and host communities.
Developed under the PROSPECTS programme in Uganda, this report maps private sector actors and climate-smart solution providers, with a focus on scaling commercially viable products and services to strengthen the resilience of refugee and host community livelihoods in remote and fragile contexts. It situates these opportunities within a context where key challenges—such as thin markets, low purchasing power, logistical barriers, and reliance on donor-driven models—continue to constrain the sustainability and scalability of climate adaptation solutions. The report identifies high-potential SMEs and business models that can support resilient and inclusive economic growth in refugee settings through market-based approaches.
