This technical note is part of the collection of notable experiences in the digitisation of business enterprises and employers' organizations (EBMOs) in Latin America, identified in the research process carried out by the ILO Bureau for Employers' Activities (ACT/EMP) for the preparation of the 2022 Regional Report "Where are business organizations on the journey towards digitisation, A look at Latin America". These remarkable experiences should inspire other EBMOs in their transition to digitalisation.The Nicaraguan Development Institute (INDE) is an organization that promotes and defends the economic and social importance of the private sector. With 57 years of experience, the institution enjoys strong credibility and a long track record, made up of business leaders and professionals who drive innovative and responsible initiatives to contribute to local and national development. In June 2022, INDE launched its virtual assistant (chatbot), which was named Sofía.
