Syria: Promoting decent work in time of transition

The ILO’s Programme of Support (PoS) in Syria is not just about jobs. It aims to rebuild social cohesion through gender-transformative, inclusive labour systems; support conflict-sensitive social protection reforms; and promote equitable labour governance rooted in dialogue and non-discrimination. Special emphasis is placed on empowering women, youth, and persons with disabilities through access to quality employment, care infrastructure, and institutional representation. The POS is a live document that will be updated periodically in the light of the evolving situation in Syria, and the new UNSDCF2 2027-2031 that will be developed during the next year 2026.
