Stocktaking study for the development of a sectoral skills strategy: Indonesia seafaring
This stocktaking study based on the ILO Skills for Trade and Economic Diversification, or STED methodology aims to catalogue the demand for seafarers’ and the associated skills, while illustrating the current educational options to
address the industry’s needs. It concludes summarizing the interventions proposed by national stakeholders to better respond to the market demand.
The study includes six sections. Following the introduction, the first section introduces the methodology. Sector profile, HRs profile, and the analysis of the educational offer to address HRs needs in the seafaring sub sector follow next. A section with proposed interventions to address present challenges concludes.
