Setting a minimum wage through evidence-based practices. A situation analysis and guide for Caribbean employers’ and business member organizations
This report examines multiple dimensions of minimum wage policies in the Caribbean and is informed by a survey of 190 companies and 17 EBMOs across 12 territories. Throughout the report, emphasis is placed on the need for an evidence-based approach to minimum wage setting—one that balances the needs of workers with the economic realities faced by businesses and the broader economy. By providing a comprehensive analysis of minimum wage policies in the Caribbean, the report seeks to inform and guide policymakers and social partners in developing more effective and equitable systems.
