The right to care in Latin America and the Caribbean: Progress on the regulatory front
ECLAC, UN Women and the ILO present a document on regulatory advances regarding the right to care in Latin America and the Caribbean, prepared for the 16th Regional Conference on Women and as an input for its preparatory activities.
The study examines international instruments, ILO conventions and recommendations, in synergy with the Regional Gender Agenda and agreements of ECLAC subsidiary bodies. It also addresses the constitutional recognition of the right to care, the economic value of care work, laws and policies on comprehensive care systems, and the regulation of care leave.
