A Review of Child Labour Laws of Suriname - a Guide to Legislative Reform

This study, commissioned by the International Labour Organization, Subregional Office for the Caribbean, reviews the laws on child labour in Suriname, within the context of ILO Conventions No. 138 on the Minimum Age for Admission to Employment and No. 182 on the Worst Forms of Child Labour and its relevant ILO Recommendations No. 146 and No. 190.

The main concern of this review is to identify apparent gaps and inconsistencies in the laws relating to child labour in Suriname and to provide a guide for legislative reform to ensure compliance with the requirements of the ILO Conventions.
