Resilient and sustainable enterprises in the tourism sector of the Dominican Republic: A systemic analysis with a focus on the resilience of SMEs

Despite the severe effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on tourism activity, the Dominican Republic's tourism activity has recovered to levels higher than before the pandemic. However, not all companies have recovered at the same speed, and SMEs in particular have been impacted by the economic effects of the pandemic. This report presents a systemic analysis of the tourism sector in the Dominican Republic, with the goal of identifying factors affecting the resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the sector. Additionally, the report proposes recommendations for interventions aimed at strengthening the resilience of SMEs and the systems in which they are integrated.
