This study comes within the framework of the collaboration between the ILO Cairo office, particularly the project “Advancing the Decent Work Agenda in North Africa and the Levant (ADWA’)– funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

This study examines the current socio-economic and environmental realities in Egypt, how well the existing policy framework supports a just transition, and
where there are opportunities to strengthen it, both generally and specifically for women entrepreneurs.
The overall objective of the study is to equip the Egyptian government and its national partners with key insights for adapting and leveraging the national policy framework to realize a just transition.
