  Decades of conflict have marred the prospects of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The region is under conditions of fragility, which weakens delivery of basic services on education, skills training, health and population growth, infrastructure and capital and investments. It highlights the importance of a structural transformation of the regional economy with trade as a pathway. However, it requires skills development, labour productivity and decent work conditions.
