Promoting local economic development in the provinces of Quezon, Masbate, Northern Samar, and Bukidnon
The report design took off from guidelines laid out in the local development and decent work (LDDW) resource kit of the ILO. The LLDW approach defines Local Economic Development as "a participatory process arrangements between the main private and public stakeholders in a defined territory".
The objectives of the study were to: (a) assess the economic potentials and critical livelihood bottlenecks in the four districts covered by IPEC; (b) identify sectors/sub-sectors/value chains that offer economic potentials and income opportunities for child llabour families in the targeted municipalities; and (c) generate local economic development (LED) projects (both quick wins and catalytic projects) details of which will partners/beneficiaries, as practical interventions to stimulate the local economy and provide jobs and incomes to targeted families.
