Papua New Guinea Social protection diagnostic assessment

This publication provides analysis to inform ongoing reviews of national employment legislation and support the implementation of the National Social Protection Policy (NSPP) 2022–30. The Social Protection Diagnostic Assessment (SPDA) was conducted from June to November 2024 in collaboration with the Department of Labour and Industrial Relations (DLIR) and the Department of Community Development and Religion (DFCDR). It draws on a review of legislation, policies, statistics and programme performance reports, complemented by consultations with government, workers’ and employers’ organizations, superannuation funds, civil society organizations and United Nations agencies.
