Old ways, new challenges. The road to empowerment: Strengthening the Indigenous Peoples' Rights Act.

This is the first in a two-volume series that compiles case studies about various aspects of the Indigenous Peoples' Rights Act (IPRA) law. In this volume, critical issues concerning indigenous peoples’ rights and their customary governance are discussed, based on field experience documented by legal and academic experts. From labour and intellectual property rights to conflict resolution processes, the chapters provide examples of how the IPRA law may be utilized to address problems that continue to hound the country’s indigenous communities.
