Morocco COVID-19 Country Case Study

Content also available in: français

This report examines how Moroccan households and firms were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through June 2021.

The analysis is based on a series of rapid phone surveys conducted by the Economic Research Forum over that period, including four waves of surveys targeting a nationally representative sample of individuals and households (including household microenterprises) and two waves of surveys targeting a nationally representative sample of small and medium firms (who had 6 to 199 workers as of February 2020).

Both types of surveys were designed as panel surveys to better capture change over time. When either individuals or firms could not be reached in a subsequent wave, a refresher sample was used to make up for this attrition.
