• Chapter 2

  This chapter deals with several aspects of running and managing an MRC. It is divided into six subsections to provide a more detailed and organized set of discussions on the guiding principles, client reception, programs and services, and safeguarding considerations in local MRC operations, among others. It is also in this chapter that an adapted CLIENT framework is explained and supplemented with examples of actual interventions that relate to such a classification scheme.

  This chapter focuses on sustaining and strengthening an MRC, based on the fundamental view that MRCs should proactively find ways to improve and innovate several aspects of their operations, including the development and delivery of certain programs and services to their clients, especially the migrant workers. Five main themes are covered in this Chapter, namely: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning or MEL; Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI); Migration and Development and Migration Governance Linkages; Alternative Resource Mobilization; and Climate Change and Disaster Resilience.
