Labour Protection of Interns in Chinese Textile and Apparel Enterprises
In the past three decades, China has become the world's largest producer and exporter in the textile and apparel industry. With an annual output of over 5,700 billion China Yuan Renminbi (CNY), the industry provides millions of jobs for women and men workers throughout the country. With direct linkages to supply chains of major international brands and increasing globalization of China's own brands, Chinese textile and apparel enterprises are becoming more and more aware of their corporate social responsibility and are stepping up action to meet global expectations and minimize reputational risk in their business operations.
