Just Transition Assessment Model for Côte d’Ivoire
This report examines how Côte d’Ivoire’s green policy choices, especially in renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, could affect employment, economic growth and greenhouse gas emissions. It provides evidence to help shape a just transition that supports decent work, protects livelihoods and strengthens climate action.
Prepared by the ILO at the request of the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, this report presents a Just Transition Assessment Model that analyses the likely economic, employment and environmental impacts of key green policy scenarios.
Focusing in particular on solar energy expansion and the National Agricultural Investment Programme, the report shows how climate and development policies can contribute to job creation, higher value added and a more sustainable growth path.
It also highlights the importance of skills development, social protection and targeted support to ensure that the transition is fair and inclusive for workers, women, young people and communities affected by structural change.
