The Job impacts of Climate policies in Senegal : How to make the Transition of the labour market just

The report analyzes how the green transition can become a driver of growth and employment in Senegal. It studies two scenarios: green agriculture, based on sustainable practices and better resource management, and renewable energy, which reduces dependence on thermal power through solar, wind and hydropower. These pathways show that a just transition could create around 350,000 additional jobs by 2035, strengthen economic resilience and reduce CO₂ emissions. It would particularly benefit rural areas and low-skilled workers, while offering opportunities for retraining. Lastly, the report emphasizes the need to support this transformation with training policies, social protection measures and innovative financing.
