Most accidents at any workplace happen as employers do not invest in ensuring safety of workers. However, most employers regularly blame workers for accidents at the workplace. Education on safe practices for all employees and management prioritisation of worker safety over productivity are essential elements for ensuring a safe workplace. This manual provides guidelines on how safe workplaces can be ensured for sandstone mine workers. The publication was prepared by the Centre for Workers’ Management for ILO-IPEC and IndustriALL Global Union. Funding for this ILO publication was provided by Irish Aid.
