How has the ILO performed in promoting international labour standards through development cooperation projects? Insights from a synthesis of 200 evaluation reports (2019–23)

This inaugural edition of the Insight Series studies focuses on performance trends regarding ILO’s work and achievements made on normative work and the promotion of International Labour Standards (ILS). It highlights the importance of embedding ILS into project design, leveraging tripartite social dialogue, prioritizing advocacy to overcome political barriers, investing in capacity-building for sustainable implementation, and embracing flexibility to enhance relevance and effectiveness.
