Factors affecting women entrepreneurs in establishing and expanding their businesses in NAD Province

Improve the knowledge base on women’s entrepreneurship development in Aceh province and the various constraints faced by women in comparison to men entrepreneurs.

While women before the tsunami often started businesses together with someone else, post-tsunami women most often established or re-started their businesses by themselves. These businesses most often are home-based. This can be explained mainly through women’s struggle to combine family with business responsibilities, which is more easily achieved, if women’s businesses are close to their homes.
