The dynamics of the labour market and employment in Bangladesh : a focus on gender dimensions
This study was undertaken within the framework of the ILO project, Women’s Empowerment through Employment and Health, funded by the United States Department of Labor. The objective was to carry out an analysis of the available labour market data in order to examine the gender gaps and differentials that exist in the labour market and thereof improve understanding of the gender dimensions of labour market dynamics and employment characteristics.
Analyses changes in the gender characteristics of the labour market during the 1990s. Focuses on the labour participation rates, education and skills, type of employment by sector and status, and wage rates and earnings.
