Domestic workers in Southeast Asia: a decent work priority
Provides an overview of the situation of domestic workers in South-East Asia and outlines the contents of governmental obligations to provide fundamental labour and human rights protection for these workers.
Serious human rights abuses against domestic workers are commonplace in South-East Asia. They must be addressed from a multi-sectorial and holistic perspective, given the complex nature of the problems facing domestic workers. In order to ensure that domestic work may become a source of Decent Work, changes must take place at the legal, social, political, and cultural levels in South-East Asia.
