Domestic workers in the Philippines: Profile and working conditions

This Fact sheet presents the profile of domestic workers and their employers in the Philippines, and provides an insight into two important aspects of domestic work, namely, wages and working hours.

This Fact sheet has presented the following trends: (a) the number of domestic workers is rising. Women make up more than four-fifths of this workforce; (b) live-in domestic workers make up a third of domestic workers. They are mostly young and single women; and (c) paid domestic work is a highly important source of employment, especially for women.
