Diagnostic report on the extent, circumstances, causes, factors and nature of informality in Nepal

The diagnostics of factors, characteristics, causes and circumstances of informality, as per ILO Recommendation No. 204, aims to inform the design and implementation of laws and regulations, policies and other measures aiming to facilitate the transition to the formal economy.
The report was developed by tripartite constituents led by the Ministry of Labour Employment and Social Security with technical support from the ILO. Recommendations from the report were translated into a national action plan on formalization, approved by the Central Labour Advisory Council and currently under implementation.
