Demand-driven approaches to livelihood support in post-war contexts : a joint ILO-World Bank study

Describes experiences in the approaches of the ILO’s Local Economic Development (LED) and the World Bank’s Community Driven Development (CCD) in a number of developing countries. Highlights the facilitation of knowledge flows, repairing community rifts, combating social exclusion, institution building, etc. Identifies essential operational principles, including the mapping of local livelihood opportunities and resources, implementation of community-based and individual livelihood support activities, using aid-sector opportunities, etc.
