Decent Work Country Programme in Iraq: Recovery and Reform
The 2024 annual progress report highlights Iraq’s continued efforts to promote decent work amid a fragile labour market. Developed under the Decent Work Country Programme (2019–2024), the report captures achievements across job creation, vocational training, social protection, labour law reform, and social dialogue. It reflects strong collaboration between the Government of Iraq, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and the ILO—demonstrating tangible impact in employment, policy development, and inclusion of youth, women, IDPs, and persons with disabilities. The report also outlines strategic priorities for 2025 as Iraq and the ILO move forward under a renewed cooperation framework.
