Cambodia: Addressing informality in the cashew nut industry

This brief, based on the report Diagnostic of Informality in the Cambodian Cashew Nut Industry, presents the overall informal economy in the Cambodian cashew nut sector; the situation of informal workers and economic units; and the diversity of constraints and bottlenecks preventing these actors from transitioning to formality. The brief puts forward recommendations to promote decent work through the formalization of labour and enterprises in the cashew industry and the expansion of social security coverage among the industry’s workforce.
