For the purpose of this document, who comprises the youth in the Philippines was described; the terms ‘youth unemployment’ and ‘underemployment’ defined; and current situation of youth unemployment at the local and global level discussed.
Youth employability status, socio-economic conditions and governance structures of a particular locality, sector, or organizations are not necessarily the same. Surveying the status of youth in terms of development and employability as well as the status of their local or sector specific environment in terms of challenges, opportunities, and capacities of relevant support institutions is necessary.
