Assisting disabled persons in finding employment: A practical guide - Caribbean Edition
The guide provides an overview of approaches and strategies to improve job opportunities for disabled jobseekers. It is intended for vocational guidance and placement personnel in mainstream and specialist employment services in governmental and non-governmental organizations.
This practical guide is part of the ILO’s strategy to promote the observance of the ILO Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Disabled Persons) Convention, 1983 (No. 159), and Recommendation, 1983 (No. 168) and compliment other ILO publications like the Code of Practice on Managing Disabilities in the Workplace.
The ILO is pleased to publish this Caribbean version of the guide and
hopes that, in combination with the customized guide for policy-makers
and placement service managers “Placement of Job-Seekers with
Disabilities - Elements of an Effective Service”, and the ILO Resource Book for trainers of placement officers, it will contribute to the improvement of decent work opportunities for people with disabilities throughout the region.
