In Madagascar, construction is one of the sectors that makes the greatest contribution to the country's economic and social growth.
Still, at the same time, it also has the highest number of workplace accidents, with an average of 11% of all reported accidents per year, in all sectors combined.
The project aims to achieve a lasting reduction in the number of work-related accidents, illnesses, and deaths, and to promote a culture of prevention among all those involved in the construction industry.
The project's interventions range from strengthening the normative and regulatory framework for Occupational Health and Safety (OSH), through technical support and direct action in companies to implement preventive measures and build the capacities of key players, to integrating OSH into technical education and vocational training.
