Training for Rural Economic Empowerment (TREE)

An ILO methodology for promoting socio-economic development in poor rural communities. It emphasis the central role of knowledge and skills in modern day employment growth and competitiveness and, thereby, also the crucial role of training as part of an integrated package of actions to create new economic and employment opportunities for the poor, the unemployed and the otherwise disadvantaged. It is a tool for poverty reduction not just poverty alleviation.
