Programme Objective : Enhanced employment and self-employment opportunities for young people through access to skills development

Key Intervention Strategies:
  • Develop National Action Plan
  • Review National Youth Policy
  • Capacity building to youth organizations

Main Outcomes:
  1. Strengthened framework for youth employment promotion in Zambia through data based decisions/plans
  2. Improved Business Development Services and access to finance for young women and men
  3. Increased awareness and knowledge on youth employment challenges and good practices

Target Group Young men and women between 18 and 35 years, selected policy coordination bodies with a mandate for youth employment and small enterprise development, MYS, MLSS, MCTI, ZDA, NYDC, MOE, local BDS providers and youth entrepreneur associations and cooperatives

Geographical Coverage :

Nationwide With focus on Copperbelt, Lusaka and Livingstone

Actual Results To date:
  • National Action Plan Developed, to be launched by the Republican President
  • Over1000 young people trained in different enterprise development packages
