Project summary
The project supported inclusive labour market recovery by strengthening cooperation among government institutions, employers’ and workers’ organizations, the State Employment Service and training providers. Particular attention was given to women, internally displaced persons, war veterans and persons with disabilities facing barriers to employment.
Implemented by the ILO with national and local partners, the project combined technical assistance, institutional capacity-building, skills development and entrepreneurship support to respond to immediate employment barriers while strengthening local capacity to meet evolving labour market needs.
Key project interventions included strengthening regional capacity through the LEP approach; delivering demand-driven upskilling and reskilling; improving employment services and skills matching; promoting entrepreneurship; strengthening training institutions; and enhancing cooperation among labour market actors.
By better connecting skills development and employment support with the needs of workers and employers, the project strengthened the foundations for a more inclusive and responsive labour market in the Kyiv region and established partnerships that can support continued cooperation on employment and skills.
