Promoting Rights and Opportunities for People with Disabilities in Employment through Legislation (PROPEL)

Promoting Rights and Opportunities for People with Disabilities in Employment through Legislation (PROPEL- Ethiopia) will focus on promoting disability rights and the inclusion of persons with disabilities in employment on the basis of the experiences drawn from previous phases of the ILO-Irish Aid Partnership Programme on Disability. Earlier phases of the partnership have successfully contributed to employment related disability rights legislations and the piloting of disability inclusion in programmes and services relating to employment, skills training, entrepreneurship development and access to micro-finance. The aim of the PROPEL project will be to enable the Ethiopian Government, social partners and disability advocates to be actively engaged in the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and also to share this knowledge on UNCRPD implementation and good practices in Ethiopia in improving disability-related employment legislation and policies and promoting social inclusion with other African countries.
